What is this song about?
This song tells the story of Miguel, a vagabond who lived in the street, and that he always played the guitar there. In the chorus it says that Miguel was always sad and that his only way of enjoying life was to sing in the centre of Madrid, so that he could earn some money while making people happy. Finally, it says that Miguel died and that everybody in Madrid missed him singing there.
I have chosen this song because...
Because it is my father's favorite one. It reminds him of his youth and he always says that the first time he listened to it was in Barcelona, while he was on holidays with my mother, they were exactly in the reception of the hotel. No sooner he listened to it, he asked for the title of this song. Since then, he has always loved it, specifically the theme and the lyrics of it because it makes him think. I also like it and we always listen to it in long journeys by car.
What this song makes me feel is...
It makes me reconsider that there are lots of poor people and vagabonds who live in the street and despite all their problems; they always try to make people happy, like Miguel. Moreover, it helps me to know my father's feelings and thoughts better. Every time we listen to this song together we always show gratitude for being luck of having a house and something to eat.
