WISH
YOU WERE HERE-PINK FLOYD
Tittle: Wish you were here
Album:Wish you were here.Came out in september of
1975.Recorded on Abbey Road studios in London.
Year:The album came out in 1975 and the song was recorded on january from
1975.
Label:EMI
Music Style:Progressive rock:It is a subgenre from the rock
music, it was born in the UK between the 60's and the 70's.It grew as of the
psycodelic pop and it was created as an
attempt to give importance to rock music.
What is the song about:The letter of this song shows the feelings of
Roger Waters towards other people and towards him. It's also related to the
exmember of Pink Floyd, Syd Barret, dead in july of 2006.
I have chosen this song because is one of my fathers favourite ones.It
reminds him of his youth and it reminds me of all the times I've been listening
to it. When I was younger, my father used to put this song on repeat
during the
long car trips.
What this song makes me feel:I think this is a song full of
feelings, and maybe that is why I like it so much. When I listen to it I just disconnect from
the rest of the world, it makes me sad, but at the same time it relaxes me.I
believe the writer was passing through hard times while he was writing this
song, and that could maybe be the reason for the song being so good and expressive.I
would love this song to be remembered as a very important song in for example,
20 years from now.
