What is this song about? The summary of the song is that it makes the case that all persons on Earth are connected and that people from one place or group cannot ignore the needs of others.
It talks about the poor children in the world and their poverty. It says we can’t wait until someday something happens and changes the situation because that won’t happen.
The song doesn't deny the distress and peril in other parts of the world, but affirms that people not only can but must take action to help those in need.
So we have to send them our hearts and they will know someone cares about them and they will be happier. That’s why it is a very sentimental but also a nice song.
- Why have I chosen this song? I have chosen this song because it is my mum’s favourite one. She always says it reminds her how lucky we are because we have born here, in Spain. So it’s a way to realize of our privilege, and not only express thanks for it but also try to help the ones we need us.
Apart from that, my mum used to sing this song some years ago, so it brings her lots of memories.
Also the objective of the song was a great idea. It was made to help people who need it because all the money they earned was donated to a humanitarian campaign. The main target was to end with the tremendous famine in Ethiopia.
- What does this song make me feel? I think this is a very deep and sentimental song, and I really like it. It helps me think of lots of different things and reflections.
Firstly, how lucky I am to have born here, in Spain.
Secondly It makes me realize that I have lots of opportunities to study, to learn.
Thirdly I must be grateful for the rest of chances I have: having good health, having food, all necessities covered, etc.
Finally, the song makes me wonder the proper way of helping other people. How can we help those children who don’t have absolutely anything, those children that cannot go to school, families without water or food, ill people that cannot go to a hospital?
